About me

The title Event Manager could very easily be substituted by “Jack of All Trades”, because that is effectively what you need to be!   From weddings, to community events to corporate conferences, each usually requires a different focus.   And the requests can be many and varied….. from sourcing guest speakers, high and low profile, to looking outside the square to create unique functions.

Being able to get inside the head of the client is really useful…  trying to establish  what the client really wants is sometimes a challenge.

I’m a keen photographer, continually updating my skills and getting lots of practice.  I love photographing landscapes, streetscapes and people in situ, rather than formal portraits.  But I love just capturing the moment too.

My husband and I are fairly serious rock and rollers, we occasionally teach, which gives us a shared interest as well as a very healthy social life, the added benefit is that we keep fit.  Also we both love to travel and have made several extensive overseas trips in the last few years.

My working life is continually enhanced by my personal interests – producing me – the product that I ultimately sell.

I live in a beautiful part of the world – Far North Queensland, just an hour south of Cairns

Just some of the areas in which I enjoy working:

  • Planning assistance – taking a client’s dream and helping to make it happen…
  • Working out what CAN be done – not what CAN’T be done…
  • Funding Applications (Not my favourite, but very important)…
  • Sourcing and servicing sponsors, major and minor…
  • Marketing and media assistance…
  • Social media
  • Computer literacy, particularly in finding my way around websites, emails, accounting packages, Word, Excel, Publisher and Powerpoint…
  • Experience in budgeting and keeping accounts (I don’t know why but treasurers love this one!)
  • Desk top publishing, designing posters, flyers, invitations, programs and prepare ready-to-print media…
  • Produce presentations in any format – slide shows, short movies, photos…
  • I’m a photographer, so keeping a pictorial record of an event is, to me, a most enjoyable hobby.   As with most things, practice is improving the results!
